GPA calculator

Add each unit's grade and credit points to see your grade point average. Pick the scale your university uses.

How GPA is worked out

Each grade is turned into grade points. Multiply each unit's grade points by its credit points, add them up, then divide by your total credit points. A 12 credit point unit counts twice as much as a 6 credit point unit.

Example on the 7-point scale: a High Distinction (7) in a 12 credit point unit and a Credit (5) in a 6 credit point unit give (7 脳 12 + 5 脳 6) 梅 18 = 6.33.

Questions

Does my university use the 7-point or the 4-point scale?

It depends on the university. Your university's handbook or student portal says which scale it uses and how it counts fails and withdrawn units.

Do failed units count towards my GPA?

On the scales here a fail is worth zero grade points and its credit points still count, so it lowers your GPA. Some universities treat fails differently, so check your university's rules.

What is the difference between GPA and WAM?

GPA averages grade bands, so a High Distinction is worth the same whether you scored 85 or 100. WAM averages your actual marks out of 100.

Is this my official GPA?

No. It is an estimate from the grades you enter. Your university's academic record is the official figure.
