How to become an Electrical Engineering Draftsperson
Prepares detailed drawings and plans of electrical installations and circuitry in support of Electrical Engineering Professionals and Engineering Technologists.
Main tasks
- Prepares detailed drawings, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry
- Collaborates with Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists to ensure the accuracy of electrical drawings and plans
- Uses CAD software to create and modify electrical drawings and plans
- Conducts site visits to gather information and measurements for electrical installations
- Calculates and determines dimensions, materials and specifications for electrical installations and circuitry
- Inspects electrical designs for compliance with design specifications and government regulations
