Supervises Fishing Hands to ensure safe, efficient and effective fishing operations, preservation of quality catch, and cleanliness and maintenance of workplace.
Main tasks
- Ensures fishing gear is rigged to correct specifications, including legislated requirements
- Supervises the operation, cleaning and maintenance of vessel deck machinery and lifting appliances
- Oversees offboarding of catches
- Conducts fishing operations-specific safety drills
- Organises and trains Fishing Hands, and supervises fishing work routines and day-to-day fishing operations
