How to become a Furniture Removalist
Drives a removal van or truck to move household and office furniture and equipment between locations.
Main tasks
- Plans and organises the loading, transportation and unloading of furniture and equipment
- Uses appropriate lifting techniques for heavy items
- Packs and secures furniture and equipment for safe transportation
- Drives a removal vehicle to transport furniture and equipment
- Liaises with clients to determine preferences for placing furniture and equipment
- Completes documentation, including inventories of furniture and equipment moved
- Inspects and maintains a removal vehicle
- May assist with packing, assembling and disassembling furniture and equipment
