How to become a Mechanic's Assistant
Assists automotive technicians to replace and repair worn and defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, change oil and filters, and perform other routine mechanical tasks.
Main tasks
- Assists in the replacement and repair of worn and faulty motor parts
- Reassembles mechanical components under the guidance of automotive technicians
- Performs routine mechanical tasks such as checking and adjusting fluid levels, replacing batteries and filters, and cleaning components
- Assists in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
- Assists in conducting vehicle inspections and tests
- Retrieves and delivers vehicles to customers or other locations as required
