How to become a Nurse Educator
Also called: Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Facilitator, Staff Development Nurse
Designs, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of nursing education and staff development programs, and manages educational resources.
Main tasks
- Plans and organises the delivery of nursing education programs for nursing students
- Implements nursing education programs, including developing curriculum, teaching materials and assessment tools
- Designs nursing education programs based on the needs of the target audience
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing education programs and makes improvements as required
- Manages educational resources, including budgeting, procurement and maintenance of equipment and materials
- May focus on general nursing topics or specialise in a particular area of nursing
