How to become a Pet Groomer
Washes, dries, brushes, combs, cuts and styles pets' coats, clips their nails and cleans their ears.
Main tasks
- Washes, shampoos and dries pets' coats
- Brushes and combs pets' coats to remove tangles and mats
- Trims and cuts pets' coats to desired length and style
- Clips pets' nails to ensure they are an appropriate length
- Cleans pets' ears to remove dirt and debris
- Identifies health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions or tooth decay, and informs pet owners
- Provides services such as teeth brushing and anal gland expression
- Maintains cleanliness and hygiene of grooming tools and equipment
- Provides advice and recommendations to pet owners regarding grooming techniques and products
