How to become a Swimming Instructor or Coach
Also called: Swimming Teacher
Instructs, coaches and trains participants in swimming by planning and conducting lessons on swimming skills, water safety and survival techniques, analysing performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing their abilities.
Main tasks
- Plans and organises swimming lessons and training sessions
- Provides instruction on swimming techniques and skills, monitors progress, and adjusts training programs to improve performance
- Develops individualised programs based on skill levels and goals
- Demonstrates techniques and corrects form
- Ensures participant safety during sessions
- May coordinate and supervise swimming competitions
- May keep records of progress and achievements
