Main tasks
- Buying Chinese medicinal materials and giving technical guidance and quality management for processing herbal slices and making ready made Chinese medicines
- Overseeing and checking the quality of Chinese medicines and testing samples
- Handling the buying, selling, storage and management of Chinese medicines
- Making herbal slices into different forms such as pills, powders, pastes, dan pills, tablets, creams or liquids
- Preparing medicines for use within the hospital and checking prescription combinations, quality stability, effectiveness and toxicity
- Helping doctors with medication and checking, preparing and double checking prescriptions
- Giving out medicines to patients and explaining what to watch for when taking them
- Keeping dispensing records and making sure medicines are available for patients
- Guiding sensible use of medicines, monitoring treatment and assessing how well it works
