How to become a Credit Manager
Official Chinese title (2022 occupational classification): 信用管理师
Also called: Data Governance Officer, Due Diligence Investigator, Credit Model Developer and Analyst, Credit Rating Analyst
Handles credit related technical work in a business, such as sales on credit and other credit transactions, credit risk control, credit checks and credit rating.
Main tasks
- Drafting credit policies and guidelines for the business and designing procedures to prevent, control and transfer business and consumer credit risk
- Helping the business set up its own credit system in line with national credit standards
- Combining credit reports, ratings, guarantees, debt collection and other products and services to manage credit risk day to day
- Collecting customer credit information and rating customers' risk or calculating personal credit scores from credit files
- Managing commercial contracts, warning customers based on the age of receivables, and transferring risk through factoring, credit insurance, guarantees and debt trading
- Handling overdue accounts through outside collection agencies or legal action and verifying and reporting bad debts
- Choosing suitable credit databases on the market or using big data services
- Investigating and analysing credit information and assigning credit ratings
