Operates gas generating, collecting and pumping equipment to make or collect gases, then compresses, purifies and dissolves them before filling, transporting and supplying them.
Main tasks
- Running gas generating or collecting equipment to produce feed gas
- Operating compressors and purifiers, controlling temperature, pressure and purity to compress and purify feed gas
- Running pumps to send gas into storage tanks or filling
- Safety testing gas cylinders with hydraulic presses and cylinder test equipment
- Operating storage and transfer equipment to supply medical and industrial gases
- Checking and maintaining production equipment and dealing quickly with problems or faults
- Recording and keeping production reports
