Chooses, installs, sets up, programs, troubleshoots and services the vision systems on smart equipment.
Main tasks
- Choosing vision hardware such as lenses, cameras and code readers, and setting it up and maintaining it
- Lighting objects and capturing images of them
- Calibrating the accuracy of the vision system
- Calibrating coordinate systems between the vision system and other systems
- Integrating the main industrial control software with the vision application and building it into the communication system
- Confirming and capturing the features of objects when images are taken
- Sorting good and bad images while the system runs and diagnosing and solving problems
- Designing small sample programs to check process accuracy
- Resetting, adjusting and checking the system after vision hardware is replaced
