Also called: Ring Spinning Frame Operator, Winding, Doubling and Reeling Worker, Twister, Thread Maker
Operates winding machines, ring spinning frames, twisting machines, doubling machines and balling machines to turn roving, sliver, cops or several yarns into fine yarn, cone yarn, thread and balls.
Main tasks
- Checking and changing roving and cans or watching roving storage and supplying by section or machine
- Running ring spinning frames, starting up, threading, piecing and wrapping
- Operating or watching doffing devices, doffing full cops by hand or automatically and threading up and restarting
- Operating winding equipment or minding linked spinning and winding units, starting up, threading, clearing and piecing
- Operating doubling and twisting machines, changing cones and piecing
- Turning cone and hank thread into balls and cones with thread making equipment
- Watching equipment and dealing with breaks and yarn faults at each stage
- Patrolling machines and cleaning them
