Casts and rolls molten aluminium, copper and their alloys directly into strip, plate stock or finished products.
Main tasks
- Melting metal in melting and holding furnaces
- Making and fitting casting tips and adjusting the roll gap and casting zone
- Controlling pouring temperature and metal level to cast metal into stock
- Controlling rolling speed and cooling to roll stock into product
- Fitting, changing and managing rolls
- Maintaining equipment, dealing with equipment faults and product defects and recording and analysing data
