Production engineer reviews and evaluates production performance, performs data analysis and identifies under-performing production systems. He/she analyses workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies, and plans production enhancements and process optimisations. He/she prepares production plans, taking account of sequence and timing of each operation, tool and material requirements, machine loads, manpower and other factors. He/she may plan and program work flow for each production line to be consistent with established manufacturing sequences.
