Main tasks
- Select fishing grounds, plan routes and calculate positions using compasses, charts, radar and other aids
- Command, steer and navigate fishing vessels
- Set bait and set and tow fishing gear
- Carry out fishing operations and supervise fishing crew
- Prepare and repair nets, fishing gear and other equipment
