Official title: Information and Communications Technology User Support Technicians
Provides technical support to ICT users, including diagnosing and fixing problems with software, hardware, peripherals, databases and the internet, and helps with system configuration, installation, maintenance and training.
Main tasks
- Answer users' questions about using software or hardware and solve problems
- Enter commands to observe how systems run and detect errors, and confirm that operations are correct
- Install system hardware and software following designs or manuals, and carry out system maintenance
- Monitor the daily running of communications and computer systems, and keep records of communications status, problems, fixes and installations
