How to become a Legislator
Official title: Legislators
Represents voters in making laws and holds every level of government to account.
Main tasks
- Take part in drafting, reviewing, amending or repealing laws and regulations
- Investigate public issues and advance the interests of the constituency they represent
- Attend meetings and gatherings in the constituency to understand public opinion and provide constituent services
- Negotiate with government departments and interest group representatives to shape policies and agreements
