How to become a Manufacturing Manager
Official title: Manufacturing Managers
Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees manufacturing. Managers in electricity, water and gas supply and in waste treatment are also included.
Main tasks
- Set production strategies and plans
- Manage production records and reports, plan production in detail and assess site efficiency based on output quality and quantity, cost, time and labour needs
- Control production and quality procedures through maintenance plans for machinery, the supply of parts and tools, and the scheduling of operating hours
- Confirm orders and sign contracts with customers and suppliers
- Control budgets, output and costs, and adjust production processes and resources to keep costs as low as possible
- Oversee compliance with environmental protection and workplace safety rules
- Oversee the selection, training and performance of staff
