How to become a Mining Manager
Official title: Mining Managers
Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees the extraction of minerals, earth and stone, oil and natural gas.
Main tasks
- Decide policy on output, extraction sites and the movement of minerals
- Manage production records and reports, plan production in detail and assess site efficiency based on output quality and quantity, cost, time and labour needs
- Control production and quality procedures through maintenance plans for machinery, the supply of parts and tools, and the scheduling of operating hours
- Control budgets, output and costs, and adjust production processes and resources to keep costs as low as possible
- Oversee compliance with environmental protection and workplace safety rules
- Oversee the selection, training and performance of staff
