Mineral and stone processing plant operators operate machinery and equipment for the initial processing of ore, stone and other minerals into intermediate products or for further processing.
Main tasks
- Set up and operate fixed equipment and machinery to grind, crush, cut and saw minerals and stone according to work instructions
- Operate washing, separating, filtering, settling, extraction and combining equipment to remove waste and purify minerals
- Combine ore with solvents to make the next stage of processing easier
- Separate metals and mineral concentrates from ore by thickening, flotation, gravity separation, filtering, and magnetic and electrostatic separation
- Sort, stack and move processed minerals and stone for packing, transport or further processing
