How to become a Securities and Finance Dealer or Broker

Official title: Securities and Finance Dealers and Brokers

Buys and sells shares, bonds and other financial instruments for clients, and handles foreign exchange trading for clients or the firm.

Main tasks

• Give clients investment information on shares, bonds, market conditions, investment prospects and financial positions
• Keep clients informed of market trends in securities, bonds, foreign exchange and other financial instruments
• Advise clients on and negotiate loans secured against shares and bonds to help them raise funds
• Record buy and sell orders for shares, bonds and foreign exchange

Ways in

• Technical college: Technical and vocational college programme. Universities of science and technology and junior colleges run departments in related fields: finance, banking and insurance (0412). Departments in academic year 114 (2025-26): four-year technical bachelor's (四技) 24, two-year technical bachelor's (二技) 7, five-year junior college (五專) 2, two-year junior college (二專) 2.
