Sewing, embroidery and related workers sew clothing, gloves and other articles of textiles, leather and other materials by hand, and sew, install, repair and replace upholstery and soft furnishings.
Main tasks
- Sew textiles, leather and other materials by hand
- Embroider decorative designs on clothing and other articles
- Make sails, tents, awnings and similar products
- Make umbrellas
- Fit springs and padding to furniture frames and add stuffing
- Fit covers and cushions to seats and other furniture in cars, trains, buses and aircraft
- Make mattresses
- Upholster furniture and soft furnishings in textiles, leather and similar materials
