Shoemakers and related workers make and repair footwear and articles of natural or synthetic leather (other than leather clothing, hats and gloves).
Main tasks
- Make footwear patterns for cutting
- Cut and assemble footwear parts
- Stitch footwear parts together
- Make shoes to individual requirements
- Repair shoes, belts, suitcases, wallets and similar products
- Make and repair saddles, harnesses, suitcases, handbags, briefcases, purses and other accessories
- Sew leather goods by hand or machine
