How to become a Systems Analyst or Designer
Official title: Systems Analysts and Designers
Researches, analyses and evaluates clients' information system needs or problems, and produces computer system projects, recommendations and plans to improve or develop information systems.
Main tasks
- Interview users to document requirements and keep system principles consistent; identify and analyse business processes and work rules
- Evaluate the efficiency of computer systems, and recommend and design the best business information system model, functions and performance
- Write functional specifications for system developers
- Extend or modify systems to improve procedures or services
- Integrate an organisation's computer systems to improve compatibility
Ways in
- University department: Computing & IT degrees, Offered by 114 universities in Taiwan
- Licence (national exam): Regulated profession. To practise as a professional information engineer you must pass the national Professional and Technical Examination (專門職業及技術人員考試) for 資訊技師 and hold the certificate. Listed in the annex to article 2 of the Enforcement Rules of the Professional and Technical Examinations Act, item 18.
