通信操作员操作电信设备，发送和接收信号及信息。
主要任务
- 接收待发送的信息、天气报告及其他材料
- 将发射机调至所需频道或波长，向人员或车辆转发或接收信息
- 使用电传打字机或电传键盘向其他电传设备发送信息
- 记录收发的信息
- 对设备进行例行测试和维护，并报告故障
- 接听和处理紧急服务来电，并转达给相应部门
