- Assesses social welfare claims and determines eligibility for benefits based on policy guidelines
- Interviews claimants to gather information and evidence for assessment
- Reviews and analyses documentation and evidence
- Conducts investigations into suspected fraud and breaches of legislation
- Collaborates with other agencies and departments to gather information and evidence
- Provides advice to claimants on their entitlements and obligations
- Maintains accurate assessment and investigation records
- Prepares reports for management and legal proceedings
- Stays updated on changes in legislation and policy related to social welfare
