How to become an Assistive Technology Consultant

Gives people with physical impairments advice, referral, assessment, planning and training on assistive devices.
Main tasks
- Advising people with impairments on assistive devices and referring them to services
- Assessing body structure and function, activity and participation, and environmental and personal factors, and proposing assistive devices and changes to personal and public spaces
- Guiding how device plans and environment changes are carried out
- Showing people how to use assistive devices and assessing how well they work
- Explaining device care and simple repairs, giving simple rehabilitation advice and following up with users
- Teaching community members about assistive technology
