Assesses the listening and speaking skills of people with hearing loss in rehabilitation, medical or education settings, runs rehabilitation training and guides families to take part.
Main tasks
- Assessing the listening and language skills of people with hearing loss with standard tools or other methods and carrying out psychological tests
- Drawing up and adjusting personal rehabilitation training plans
- Running training in listening, language, speech, thinking and communication with auditory verbal and other techniques
- Teaching families to manage listening in daily life and to support rehabilitation at home
- Checking hearing devices are working with care kits and listening tools
- Keeping and storing rehabilitation records
- Giving technical support to staff at mainstream schools that students with hearing loss attend
