Draws up locomotive working plans and organises carrying them out.
Main tasks
- Drawing up the shift's locomotive working plan and locomotive cycle diagram
- Organising locomotives and putting maintenance and withdrawal plans into effect
- Receiving, drawing up and entering data such as operating notices and dispatch orders
- Rostering locomotive crews
- Booking crews on and off duty and reviewing and analysing monitoring records
- Passing on traffic notices and dispatch orders to crews and assigning work
- Compiling and analysing locomotive use figures and filling in operating summaries and other reports
- Handling the paperwork for locomotives joining or leaving the depot's fleet
