航空機の航法計器と設備を用い、全行程の無線航法資料を把握して、計算した航行データを操縦士と地上に提供する。
主な業務
- 航法資料を受け取って照合し、ノータムを確認して航法計画を作成し、航路、空港、飛行規則を把握して特殊な状況への対処方法を研究し、航法用具と個人の証明書類をそろえる
- 運航管理者が用意した飛行書類とノータムを確認して資料の最新の変更を把握し、乗員が持参する資料を照合して、航法設備に通電・点検し機長に報告する
- 手順に沿って航法設備を操作し、航跡を点検・修正して航空機を予定の航路に沿って飛行させ、航法記録をつける
- 特殊な状況では機長の指示に従って対処する
- 天候が複雑なときは乗員に注意を促し、航空機を正確かつ安全に目的地へ誘導する
- 機上の航法設備と地上の航行援助施設の稼働状況を報告し、飛行資料を提出する
