How to become one
No particular education or qualifications are needed to start. To become a franchise chain supervisor, you join a franchise head office. Entry requirements depend on the type of business and size of company, but new graduates are usually hired not only as supervisors but together with other roles such as store development staff, and are placed according to their aptitude. People changing careers are generally hired into specific roles such as supervisor or store adviser, and experienced people are often preferred. When hired as a supervisor, you are first placed in a store to learn how to run it day to day. To guide franchise owners, you are trained in supervising both on the job and through off-the-job training. Some people also learn business diagnosis at outside seminars. The work involves supplying goods and services, so qualifications such as retail sales specialist are useful. You need the ability and personality to communicate smoothly with many different franchise owners, plenty of general knowledge of society, a strong service attitude, and strong leadership and drive. There is also long standing work and night work, so a certain level of fitness is needed.
