Buys goods and services for industrial, commercial, government and other organisations.
Main tasks
- Buy goods for resale, keep enough stock and arrange delivery schedules
- Buy raw materials, equipment, consumables and services for factories, businesses, government agencies and other organisations
- Gather information on needs and stock levels, and decide the quality, quantity, cost and delivery dates of purchases
- Visit suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transport arrangements
