How to become an Insurance Representative

Sells all kinds of insurance and gives advice.
Main tasks
- Decide the type of insurance based on the client's needs, and agree cover amounts and policy types with clients based on the level of risk
- Negotiate and place reinsurance contracts
- Advise on and negotiate insurance contracts for larger or specialised schemes

- Technical college: Technical and vocational college programme. Universities of science and technology and junior colleges run departments in related fields: finance, banking and insurance (0412). Departments in academic year 114 (2025-26): four-year technical bachelor's (四技) 5, two-year technical bachelor's (二技) 1, five-year junior college (五專) 1. Fields matched to the occupation by Peernovo.
- Licence (national exam): Regulated profession. To practise as a insurance agent or broker you must pass the national Professional and Technical Examination (專門職業及技術人員考試) for 財產保險代理人、人身保險代理人、財產保險經紀人、人身保險經紀人 and hold the certificate. Listed in the annex to article 2 of the Enforcement Rules of the Professional and Technical Examinations Act, item 21.
