Researches chemical theory and develops and improves ways of applying it.
Main tasks
- Research, improve or develop chemical theories and methods, and write scientific papers and reports
- Study the chemical composition, energy and chemical changes of natural and synthetic substances, materials and products, and carry out tests and analyses
- Develop environmental and quality control procedures, collect and analyse samples, and identify and measure toxic substances in the environment
- Use microorganisms to convert substances into new compounds, and work out ways to strengthen or combine substances
