Official title: Physicists and Astronomers
Researches physical and astronomical phenomena such as force, heat, light, sound, electromagnetism, atoms, molecules, nuclei, electrons and elementary particles.
Main tasks
- Research theories of physics and astronomy
- Carry out experiments and tests in fields such as mechanics, heat, optics, acoustics, magnetism and electronics, and analyse results with mathematical models
- Use theories of physics to develop or improve industrial, medical, military and other applications
- Observe, analyse and interpret astronomical phenomena, and develop applications in aviation, navigation and space exploration
