Fumigators and pest and weed controllers use chemicals to eliminate harmful insects, small animals, wild plants and other organisms to prevent damage to crops, buildings and their surroundings and to human health.
Main tasks
- Operate and monitor pest and weed spraying equipment
- Mix chemicals according to instructions
- Determine pesticide quantities for the area to be sprayed using knowledge of weather conditions, humidity, height-to-distance ratios and obstacles
- Spray or release chemical solutions or toxic gases and set traps to eliminate pests and parasites such as rats, termites and cockroaches
