Official title: Government Licensing Officials
Checks applications for import and export of goods, business and factory registration and building permits, and issues passports, professional licences and other documents.
Main tasks
- Advise people on the licences required by government regulations, the conditions for getting them, and their rights and obligations
- Review applications and related documents to decide whether to issue a licence, and explain the conditions for getting one
- Review applications and approve the issue of passports
- Carry out administration such as processing applications, paperwork, assessments and decisions, and prepare letters telling applicants the outcome
