Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees clinical and care services in hospitals, clinics, health organisations and similar bodies.
Main tasks
- Oversee the health care facility and the services and facilities it provides
- Set the organisation's objectives and its standards for evaluation and management
- Direct, supervise and evaluate the work of staff and set operating rules and standards
- Manage the use of clinical services, beds, facilities and staff to use resources efficiently, and assess the need for more staff, equipment and services
- Manage administration such as budget planning, report preparation and spending on supplies, equipment and services
- Oversee the selection, training and performance of staff
