Official title: Occupational Therapists
Draws up occupational therapy programmes that help people develop, improve, maintain or regain the ability to look after themselves in daily life and live more independently.
Main tasks
- Draw up and evaluate the content and goals of occupational therapy
- Design therapeutic activities that help people prevent or correct physical and mental impairments, improve function and adapt to daily life
- Train and instruct people in the use of functional aids
Ways in
- University department: Allied Health degrees, Offered by 44 universities in Taiwan
- Licence (national exam): Regulated profession. To practise as a occupational therapist you must pass the national Professional and Technical Examination (專門職業及技術人員考試) for 職能治療師 and hold the certificate. Listed in the annex to article 2 of the Enforcement Rules of the Professional and Technical Examinations Act, item 25.
