Operates and monitors equipment in the central control room of an oil or gas refinery, and adjusts and maintains oil and gas processing units.
Main tasks
- Operate electronic or computer control panels in the central control room to monitor refining processes and keep them running effectively
- Adjust oil and gas refining units, valves and pumps, and operate units and processing equipment
- Start up and shut down oil and gas refining equipment, troubleshoot and monitor processing units; check for equipment faults, inspect well pipelines for cracks and arrange repairs
