How to become a Draughtsperson

Official title: Draughtspersons

Prepares technical drawings and maps from sketches, measurements and other data.

Main tasks

• Prepare working drawings for making and installing machinery, or for buildings, bridges, weirs, roads and other civil engineering projects
• Draw topographic and navigation charts from survey and other data
• Use computer-aided drafting equipment to draft technical drawings for installing, operating and maintaining machinery
• Use digitisers or similar equipment to convert working drawings, maps and other line drawings into digital form
