Official title: Electronics Engineering Technicians
Carries out technical work assisting in electronics research and in the design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electronic equipment.
Main tasks
- Provide technical help with electronics research and the development of electronic equipment or test standards; design and draw electronic circuit layouts to specification
- Prepare detailed estimates of the materials, labour and cost needed to make and install electronic equipment; provide technical supervision of its manufacture, use and maintenance
- Help design, develop, install, operate and maintain electronic systems, and check that products are safe
- Test electronic systems, and support electronics engineers in collecting and analysing data and assembling circuits
