Official title: Industrial and Production Technicians
Assists industrial and production engineers in researching and planning ways to raise productivity and work efficiency.
Main tasks
- Draw charts showing workflows, plant layouts, materials management and machine use
- Use cameras and video recorders to observe the time and effort staff take to do tasks and operate equipment
- Recommend changes to work methods, materials management and equipment layout to raise productivity
- Help with planning based on data such as staff performance, machine capacity, production plans and expected delays
